Lives in the Yiddish Theatre

SHORT BIOGRAPHIES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN THE YIDDISH THEATRE
AS DESCRIBED IN ZALMEN ZYLBERCWEIG'S "LEXICON OF THE YIDDISH THEATRE"

1931-1969

Aaron Ajzenberg

He was born in 1892 in Lodz, Poland. His parents were weavers. He learned in a cheder.

In 1910 he settled in the city, and feeling an urge for the stage he performed in an amateur group. After a short time he became a professional actor, performing throughout Poland where he acted in character-comical roles.

A. contrived the major reason -- a love for the Yiddish actor in Poland, and most of the time he acted under difficult conditions, but at the same time he gave joy to his viewers and listeners.

According to a report that was given after the war, he was killed at the hands of the Nazis in one of the Jewish ghettos .
