Lives in the Yiddish Theatre

SHORT BIOGRAPHIES OF THOSE INVOLVED IN THE YIDDISH THEATRE
AS DESCRIBED IN ZALMEN ZYLBERCWEIG'S "LEXICON OF THE YIDDISH THEATRE"

1931-1969



 

 Natalia Lipman

L. was born in 1890 in Kielce, Poland.

Her father was a teacher in the local gymnasium.

In 1906 she debuted with "amateurs" as "Di barmhertsike shvester" in David Pinski's "The Family Zvi", and since then was set to become a professional actress. In 1910 she was taken into Guzik's troupe and she toured with them across Russia. During the war, she acted in the Kharkov "Unzer vinkl".

After her marriage to Moshe Lipman, she followed the same path to the stage as her father.

L.'s daughter Chana, from her first husband,  Itzhak Latowicz, acts on the Yiddish stage under the name of Annie Littman.
