Actors abroad

BEFORE (and after) THE GREAT WAR ...

Many stars of the American Yiddish stage traveled to the various continents

when they weren't engaged domestically for the Yiddish theatrical season.

-- Here you will read interesting accounts from some of their travels

in the years before the onset of the Second World War, all about their impressions

of the Yiddish theatre and the audiences that attended their performances,

as well as the condition for the Jews there in the ominous years

before the Second World War, and in the decade after.
